Questions

Questions about Crushed Gravel (10mm)

How much 10mm crushed gravel do I need for a path?

It weighs around 1.6 tonnes per cubic metre. A path 1.2 metres wide, 12 metres long at 40mm deep needs about 0.6 cubic metres, roughly 0.95 tonnes. Use our calculator for your own path. That's under our 12 tonne minimum for a delivered load, so take a full load if you can use the extra, or collect it yourself from Hope Valley, where no minimum applies.

Is there a minimum order on 10mm crushed gravel?

Yes, 12 tonnes on a delivered load. That covers all our gravels, quartz and basalt. We can go under that if you really need to, but the transport cost per tonne is a lot higher so we don't recommend it for a small job. There's no minimum if you collect it yourself from Hope Valley.

Does 10mm crushed gravel set hard?

No fines are left in it, so expect it to stay as loose gravel rather than setting into a hard surface, which keeps it neat underfoot.

Can it be used between pavers?

Yes, it's a popular choice for planter and pot topping as well as courtyard areas and between pavers.

What colour is 10mm crushed gravel?

A red-brown, the natural laterite colour from the Toodyay area.
