Spearwood red sand is the dune sand Perth's older suburbs are built on, carrying a touch of natural loam that plain grey sand lacks. We screen it to -5mm at Hope Valley so it compacts cleanly and holds moisture around plant roots.

Yes. The light loam content in Spearwood red sand helps it trim to a clean, firm finish once compacted, which is why it's used for pads and levelling as well as gardens.
