The Kwinana Industrial Area runs along Kwinana Beach Road, Gilmore Avenue and Mason Road, home to the BP refinery site, Alcoa's alumina refinery, Cockburn Cement, Wesfarmers Chemicals and a long list of heavy manufacturing and processing operations that have anchored this stretch of coast since the 1950s. It's one of the largest heavy industrial precincts in the state, and our tippers are in and out of it regularly, hardstand base, yard extensions, laydown areas and access roads for the plants and the logistics and contracting businesses that support them. It's a different kind of delivery to a suburban driveway, bigger tonnages, site inductions, and material specified to handle constant heavy vehicle movement.
Medina, Calista and Parmelia went up through the 1950s and 60s specifically to house workers for the new industrial strip, and Kwinana's residential streets still carry that history in their layout and older housing stock. A lot of our work in these suburbs is renovation and replacement, tired driveways, new retic, garden beds refreshed after decades of the same planting. Kwinana Town Centre has had its own redevelopment over recent years too, bringing newer housing and commercial space in around the older suburb, so alongside the established streets there's a steady run of infill and commercial work closer to the centre.
